Sanitization of instruments

After each use, tools must be disinfected with disinfectants that have a positive conclusion of sanitary and hygienic examination. For this, most tools must be disinfected, mechanically cleaned, and sterilized after use.

Disinfection consists in immersing the tool in a disinfectant solution for the time indicated in the instructions for this drug.

Chlorine-containing preparations "Desactin", "Chlorantoin", "Neochlor" and others are usually used for disinfection of plastic products. For metal tools and those with metal parts, alcohol-based, aldehyde-based, or other tools should be used. In particular, "Bacilol", "Descocept AF", "Aerodesin", alcohol solution not lower than 70% or others. You can use all means only if you follow the methodological instructions.

Sterilization is boiling in water or the use of devices that work by the method of thermal, chemical, ultraviolet, ultrasonic or combined action, infrared, ionizing radiation, as well as means intended for instrument sterilization.

It is allowed to use only those sterilizers that have a certificate of conformity and are approved for use by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Sterilization should be carried out only according to the instructions. All clean tools should be stored in cabinets or covered.

• Quartz sterilizers (glasperlene, ball)

• UV sterilizers (ultraviolet).
